Job Description

To capture high quality video footage and still photos for broadcast and digital platforms. The jobholder is a visual storyteller who operates with a 360-degree understanding of news, combining technical expertise in aerial/wide-angle perspectives with a deep grasp of journalistic context and ethics and digital skills. The role requires creativity, technical expertise and the ability to adapt to different production environments to deliver engaging visual content aligned with the Company's goals.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Operate professional video cameras and related equipment to film studio-based, live shows and location productions.
  • Ensure proper framing, lighting and composition to meet production quality standards.
  • Collaborate with producers, duty editors, directors and reporters to execute a creative vision.
  • Perform routine maintenance of camera gear and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
  • Set up and test cameras, lighting, audio and other equipment before shoots. Ensure equipment is safely stored and properly calibrated.
  • Provide input on visual elements to enhance storytelling.
  • Capture additional footage tailored for digital platforms.
  • Follow trends and apply creative filming techniques suited to digital content consumption.
  • Maintain high levels of professionalism and discretion during sensitive productions.

Requirements, Qualifications and Competences

  • Degree in Art, Film/Television, Broadcast Journalism or related field.
  • Diploma in Technical TV Production such as Videography, Audio & Digital Video Editing (are added advantage).
  • At least 2 years of working experience in film production. Have an established evolving list of integrated production sources and vendors.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of video cameras and or related equipment
  • Deep familiarity with all aspects of TV production, including the technical process of film production and broadcast standards.
  • Strong understanding of lighting, framing and audio techniques
  • Knowledge of video editing software is a plus
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing production needs
  • Creative mindset and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Ability to troubleshoot any assignment difficulties that come within area of responsibility
  • Ability to work long and odd hours in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
