Job Description

We seek an Arts Project Manager to oversee and ensure the compliant delivery of the British Council’s Arts programming in Uganda for a period of 4 months. The role involves applying specialist expertise, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating arts activities across the British Council’s global network to align with its cultural relations mission.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, grantees, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure service procurement and contract compliance.
  • Foster strong internal networks.
  • Oversee financial planning and alignment with British Council financial year plans.
  • Conduct monthly forecasting via SAP, monitor expenditure, ensure policy compliance.
  • Develop and deliver project management plans, identify and mitigate risks.
  • Manage procurement, contracting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Oversee data management, quality assurance, analysis, and progress reporting.

Requirements, Qualifications and Competences

  • Degree or HE qualification in cultural, heritage, humanities, or project management field, or equivalent experience.
  • Foundation level Project Management certificate.
  • Experience in the Arts sector.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience managing projects end-to-end and understanding project life-cycles.
  • Understanding of procurement, evaluation, reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing project finances and stakeholders.
  • Project management qualification.
  • Experience in programme management, technology use in projects, monitoring and evaluation.
