Job Description

The Payroll Associate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining employee records, and supporting compliance with company policies and procedures. The role involves verifying figures, postings, and documentation; organizing and securing payroll files; recording and analyzing financial and payroll data; and preparing, auditing, and distributing payroll reports.

Responsibilities

  • Verify figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
  • Organize, secure, and maintain payroll files, records, cash, and cash equivalents in line with policies and procedures.
  • Record, store, analyze, and update computerized financial and payroll information.
  • Prepare, audit, and distribute payroll, financial, and statistical reports.
  • Maintain and archive employee payroll records and files.
  • Review, verify, and reconcile employee time punches, hours worked, and pay adjustments.
  • Enter and post payroll information into designated systems.
  • Back up transaction files and transmit to payroll system as per company procedures.
  • Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
  • Compute employee wages and deductions (e.g., benefits, insurance, union dues, 401k, parking).
  • Perform batch payroll adjustments and corrections.
  • Update employee schedules and time clock settings; correct attendance records as necessary.
  • Respond to employee and supervisor inquiries regarding payroll, tax issues, and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards and company policies.
  • Support team goals and maintain positive working relationships across departments.
  • Carry out additional payroll or administrative tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years in payroll or related work.
  • Supervisory Experience: None required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None required.
  • Payroll experience is mandatory; knowledge of Oasys HCM software is an added advantage.
