Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in compiling the company Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), Quality Procedures, and all related QA/QC documentation prior to the commencement of any fabrication or construction work.

  • Witness and monitor site welding activities, inspections, and tests in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, and Quality Procedures.

  • Promote quality awareness throughout the organization by emphasizing excellence, continuous improvement, and corrective action to influence the overall success of the company.

  • Verify the implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system and other safety procedures.

  • Conduct quality inspections at site locations in line with the project's quality culture.

  • Report all daily welding activities in a timely manner.

  • Ensure welders are aware of and adhere to relevant, up-to-date codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.

  • Interface professionally with the Quality Manager, construction engineers, and other inspectors.

  • Support company personnel by performing additional tasks as directed that are commensurate with his or her skills.

  • Approve work by attending inspections or tests and reviewing documents on behalf of the supplier or client.

  • Reinforce the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements when on site.

  • Oversee the inspection of mechanical equipment, piping, structure, and welding activities conducted at construction sites.

  • Review original material certificates for compliance with applicable codes and specifications.

  • Ensure all testing, measuring, welding, and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) equipment is fully calibrated per specification and has current certification.

  • Ensure the storage and handling of welding consumables adhere to the manufacturer’s recommendations and specifications and have valid certification.

  • Witness or participate in material receiving inspections at the construction site to identify any damage or deficiencies.

  • Witness in-process inspections per the ITP and Inspection Requests to ensure work proceeds according to specifications, approved drawings, and procedures.

  • Verify for rogue and counterfeit items during inspection or surveillance and immediately report any findings to the Quality Manager.

  • Actively participate in company Quality meetings.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trained qualifications is required.

  • A minimum of five years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, specifically on large construction projects, is essential. The candidate must possess thorough knowledge of various safety regulations, standards, and procedures, as well as a strong understanding of codes and standards related to the piping discipline.

  • A recognized level of expertise in the construction discipline is necessary, including a good knowledge of TOTAL E&P general specifications and contractors involved in oil and gas construction projects.

  • The ideal candidate must be fully conversant with all applicable Oil and Gas Industry International Codes, Standards, and best industry practices.

  • A good awareness of other related disciplines is important, with a proven ability to handle significant responsibility within multi-discipline teams or projects.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required. The candidate must also possess a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Proficiency in the English language is mandatory.
