Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in compiling the company Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), Quality Procedures, and all related QA/QC documentation before the commencement of any fabrication or construction work.

  • Witness and monitor site piping and mechanical activities, inspections, and tests in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, and Quality Procedures.

  • Follow the established QA/QC management system at project sites.

  • Perform all aspects of piping and mechanical inspection activities with minimal supervision.

  • Ensure that all Piping and Mechanical ITP stages are followed and complied with.

  • Review Issued for Construction (IFC) P&IDs, ISOs, and vessel drawings to verify appropriate WPS are referenced with weld details and ensure overall accuracy.

  • Previous oil and gas industry construction inspection experience is mandatory.

  • Previous experience with Tie-In execution is also mandatory.

  • **Communication and Training**
    Monitor Piping and Mechanical operations and conduct required inspections to resolve quality-related issues with workers, subcontractors, and the client.

  • Communicate the requirements of the quality scope of work to management, staff, and clients.

  • Verify that all site activities comply with the relevant quality codes and standards.

  • Coordinate with the site team on all quality issues and distribute relevant QC/QA documentation to site sub-contractors.

  • Provide appropriate feedback to management regarding QA/QC matters.

  • Develop comprehensive inspection and test programs.

  • Coordinate quality site inspections with all site teams and vendors, coordinate all non-destructive testing on site, and monitor the implementation of the approved site QC plan.

  • Inspect and review product material, weld quality, and testing to ensure compliance with code, standards, specifications, and the Quality Control Plan (QCP).

  • Ensure that all supplies and external services comply with established quality control standards.

  • Identify and control all Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) while correcting them with remedial action.

  • Verify that equipment is preserved according to the supplier’s recommendations and the approved preservation procedures.

  • Witness all pressure testing and finalize the associated testing documentation.

  • Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.

  • Prepare any required regulatory documentation and provide it to the client.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or trained qualifications such as CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI are required.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, specifically on large construction projects, is essential. The candidate must possess thorough knowledge of various safety regulations, standards, and procedures, as well as a good knowledge of codes and standards related to the mechanical discipline.

  • A recognized level of expertise in the construction discipline is necessary, with a good knowledge of TOTAL E&P general specifications and contractors in oil and gas construction projects.

  • The ideal candidate shall be fully conversant with applicable Oil and Gas Industry International Codes, Standards, and best industry practices.

  • A good awareness of other disciplines is important, with significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.

  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required, along with a good level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Proficiency in English is mandatory.
