Job Description

The Manager Performance & Talent Management is responsible for managing implementation of the Performance and Talent Management processes across the Company.  The role oversees the strategic, end-to-end process of sourcing, developing, and retaining high-performing employees as well as provide technical support in relation to designing and implementing the systems, policies, and processes that measure, evaluate, and enhance employee performance to meet organizational goals.  The role leads teams across the below 3 verticals:

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end of performance management process in the OpCo, right from goal setting to KPIs and KRAs cascade, ensuring check-in conversations happen regularly and ensure talent reviews are objective and regular
  • Ensure implementation, compliance & adherence to the Performance Management Framework, policies, guidelines & processes defined by Group Fintech HR team and  MTN Group HR team as applicable 
  • Work closely with other HR sub-functions to ensure performance management results determine offerings (Eg – rewards)
  • Maintain performance data on the HRIS system
  • Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to employee performance management, in line with group reporting mandates and collaborating with Manager Operations
  • Undertake all statutory and compliance reporting for performance management, and support audit activities as required
  • Participate in training line managers on conducting performance evaluations for their teams.
  • Develop CEO and leadership’s performance scorecards as per guidelines set by the Group remuneration Committee and take sign-off on the same
  • Utilise MTN Group Fintech mandated tools, methodologies and procedures for conducting performance management in the OpCo
  • Serve as point of contact for all performance management related issues and matters and timely resolve the same
  • Manage the end-to-end of recruitment & onboarding of all employees in the in the Company and ensure adherence to the Company’s recruitment policies and guidelines.
  • Abide by the Group mandate and ensure compliance with the same
  • Manage the induction and probation processes for all new hires and ensure confirmation of employees as per the SLAs for the recruitment function.
  • Engage with concerned stakeholders to ensure vacant positions are advertised in all the agreed channels as per the SLAs for the recruitment function. 
  • Liaise with respective functional heads in shortlisting for competent job applicants and scheduling for interviews
  • Ensure adherence to the D&I requirements and targets as prescribed by MTN Group Fintech. 
  • Manage background and document (reference, medical, academic, professional and moral) verification process for all successful candidates.
  • Coordinate with IT and admin to ensure onboarding prerequisites have been completed 
  • Prepare periodic reports on the interviews conducted and the entire recruitment process for all the new recruits.
  • Collaborate with other HR verticals (Eg – rewards) to ensure that new hire information is duly captured in the database and commensurate offerings are made available to them in time
  • Keep an updated data base of personal information and updates the register of all new hires. 
  • Conduct research and periodic surveys on the required improvements in the recruitment and onboarding process and make recommendations for improvement. 
  • Review, analyze, develop and recommend Talent Management strategies that will build a robust talent pool and culture in MTN MoMo.
  • Manage the development of the Talent Management training and development models in content, implementation and assessment that drive the LTM initiatives.
  • Provide advice in developing and reviewing Talent Management processes and procedures within the organization according to best practice.
  • Manage the MTN MoMo Succession planning framework
  • Manage the Talent Management database/system, provide information input that guides Management decisions on the Company’s Talent Management strategic direction.
  • Provide technical support for Talent Management reporting and compliance standards adherence according to the MTN Group Fintech.
  • Deploy measures and guidelines that enhance the Company’s leaning strategy and culture and presents MTN MoMo as a learning organization.  
  • Assess the Company’s future-fit competencies and skill requirements and propose proactive measures for the technical, functional and professional critical and scarce future-fit talent.
  • Survey and benchmark the MTN MoMo Leadership brand and development programs for best practices and innovations
  • Report to the CHRO relating to progress made within the function and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
  • Report on an ad hoc basis on specific projects, as required
  • Assist in managing project initiative budgets in line with business objectives.
  • Assist in managing function’s budgets in line with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources Management / Organizational Psychology or related field
  • Post Graduate degree in similar or related field is an advantage
  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years’ total experience in a similar position with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Experience in Fintech, banking or Financial Services is preferred 
  • Proven experience in leading and managing Performance and Talent management processes. 
  • Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding of emerging markets is preferred
