BRAC started microfinance in Uganda in 2006, as a part of BRAC Uganda’s social development programmes. It transformed into a Tier II Credit Institution i.e. BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd in 2019. BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd has the largest branch network (footprint) in the country, providing inclusive financial services to low-income communities predominantly women and a girl child who live in rural and hard-to-reach communities to enable them to build sustainable livelihoods. Our core credit products include a group-based microloan provided exclusively to women, and small enterprise loans for entrepreneurs seeking to expand their businesses. We also offer three types of savings products: Flex Save, a transactional account for borrowers and mid-to-low-income households; Wise Save, for formal and informal entrepreneurs, and salary-earners who wish to accumulate savings for a specific purpose; and Safe Save, for community-based savings and credit groups.

Job Description

BRAC Uganda is seeking Customer Relationship Officers to advise or sensitize prospective and existing clients on BUBL’s loan product and cross sell other financial products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Advice and or sensitizing prospective and existing clients on BUBL’s loan products and cross sell other financial products and services.

  • Carry out training of clients on financial literacy and other relevant training.

  • Guiding clients to fill in loan application forms and attach relevant documents in line with BUBL’s loan requirements

  • Conduct loan appraisals through undertaking field visits to loan applicants’ homes, agribusiness and locations of property/securities to be pledged to BUBL as collateral where required.

  • Disburse approved loans to clients on daily basis in line with the set performance targets.

  • Appraise loan applicants’ character, credit histories and conduct reference checks to ascertain willingness to repay the loan.

  • Monitor outstanding loans and performance of the loan portfolio daily. 

Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in any course.

  • Strictly fresh graduates from university

  • Not above 30yrs of age.

  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills and the ability to convince a

  • Computer knowledge especially in Microsoft Office suite for MS word and Excel.

  • Able to work in a

  • Ability to exhibit integrity

  • Ability to work under pressure and minimum supervision
