Tropical Bank

Tropical Bank Limited (TBL) is a commercial Bank in Uganda, established in 1973 as the Arab Libyan Bank for Foreign Trade & Development. The bank is licensed by the Bank of Uganda (BOU), which serves as the country's central bank. Tropical Bank Limited – Kampala is a proud member of the Libyan Foreign Bank (LFB) network, which comprises approximately 50 subsidiaries and participations in 23 countries across three continents. Established in 1972, the LFB is wholly owned by the Central Bank of Libya, serving as Libya’s first offshore banking institution licensed to operate internationally. This extensive network enables Tropical Bank Limited to benefit from strategic collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint initiatives with its sister institutions under the LFB umbrella—enhancing its ability to deliver comprehensive banking solutions tailored to both regional and international client needs.
