Uganda Registration Services Bureau(URSB) is the institution mandated under cap 217 Laws of Uganda to deliver a number of registration services that aim at facilitating and enabling the private sector growth in order to create a better investment climate.
The Department of Business Registration (DBR) is Charged with a number of activities including Name Search & Reservations, New Company incorporation, Business names registration, Registration of legal instruments and other documents, Company related documents and Collateral securities such as chattels, mortgages & debentures, Certifications, and searches.
Job Description
Uganda Registration Services Bureau is seeking a Registration Officer to ensure that all the statutory functions of registration and their related customer services are delivered correctly, efficiently and effectively to a high standard.
Responsibilities
Receives applications, conducts searches, prepares correspondences, search reports, registration, verification and certification of registration documents / certificates.
Implements the registrations regulations and ensures compliance with the legal requirements by all applicants.
Conducts quality assurance to ensure that submitted documents meet the statutory requirements.
Ensures manual recording and electronic data capture into the registration data bank / register.
Drafts documents as and when required
Ensures the establishment and maintenance of effective office procedures and ensures members of the public are dealt with in a customer caring efficient and helpful manner
Assesses and collection of non-tax revenue accruing from registrations
Conducts public awareness campaigns and information dissemination on the legal requirement, obligation and benefits of registration
Maintains records and prepares reports on a regular basis for the Senior
Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Registration Officer
Requirements
An Honours degree in Law from a recognized University or institution or An Honours degree in either Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration or Business Administration (Management Option) from a recognized University or institution.
A postgraduate diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Centre or any accredited institution.
