Ntake Bakery and Company (NBCL) was established in1978 to meet a growing need for professional bakery supplier in Uganda. NBCL began as a small bakery with minimal machinery and grew to full-capacity bakery, and supplying bread, pies, cakes, and other products to the public.

Over the years, NBCL has grown from a bakery into a multi-sector business involved in real estate, paper recycling, animal and crop husbandry, purified drinking water, batching, and refining edible oil, among others, as subsidiary businesses. Job Description

• Accurate and timely attendance and payroll reports.
• Efficient and secure employee record and file management.
• Compliance with HR documentation, leave, and disciplinary protocols.
• Smooth onboarding and exit experiences for employees.
• Enhanced employee engagement and workplace satisfaction.
• Reduction in absenteeism and payroll errors.
• Contribution to a well-structured and performance-driven HR function.

Responsibilities

  • • Assist in maintaining and updating daily attendance records for all permanent and casual staff, ensuring accuracy in time-in, time-out, overtime, and shift rotations.
  • • Prepare and submit detailed daily, weekly, and monthly attendance reports, analyzing trends such as absenteeism, punctuality, overtime hours, and irregular patterns.
  • • Monitor lateness, absenteeism, and overtime occurrences and escalate repeated or serious issues to supervisors and HR management for corrective action.
  • • Track probationary staff, contract renewals, and confirmations to ensure no lapses in employment contracts.
  • • Collaborate with departmental heads to resolve anomalies in attendance records, including unapproved absences, missing entries, and system discrepancies

Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration (HR option), or related field.
  • • At least 1–2 years of practical HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • • Knowledge of Ugandan labor laws, industrial relations, and employee grievance handling.
  • • Experience with HRIS systems, such as Mermidon.
  • • Proven experience in payroll support, employee onboarding, and disciplinary processes.
