Job Description

The Safari Driver/Guide will be responsible for transporting clients safely on safari trips, ensuring they have a memorable and informative experience. The ideal candidate should have excellent driving skills, deep knowledge of Uganda’s tourist attractions, and a warm, engaging personality.

Responsibilities

  • Drive clients to national parks, lodges, and other destinations safely and on schedule.

  • Conduct informative and engaging game drives, cultural tours, and nature excursions.

  • Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and mechanical soundness of safari vehicles before, during, and after trips.

  • Provide accurate and engaging information about wildlife, culture, geography, and local traditions.

  • Maintain accurate vehicle logs and report any incidents, repairs, or maintenance needs.

  • Adhere strictly to park regulations, company policies, and road safety standards.

  • Assist clients with luggage, check-ins, and coordination at lodges and activity sites.

  • Represent Enjobe Safaris with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity at all times.

  • Report any client concerns or feedback to the operations office promptly.

Requirements

  • Past experience as a Safari Driver or Tour Guide, preferably with a reputable tour operator.

  • Valid driving permit (Class DL) with at least 3 years of driving experience in safari or tourism-related operations.

  • Good mechanical knowledge and ability to handle minor vehicle repairs.

  • Excellent spoken English (knowledge of additional languages such as French, German, or Spanish is an asset).

  • Sound knowledge of Uganda’s national parks, wildlife, and tourist circuits.

  • Certification in First Aid and Defensive Driving is an added advantage.

  • Friendly, patient, and adaptable personality with strong customer service skills.

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
