We work with both female and male youth, between the ages of 15 to 30 years that are navigating the transition into productive and fulfilling work.
Where we work

Our programmes currently serve youth across the Central, Eastern, and Northern regions of Uganda, reaching both rural and urban communities in 23 districts.

In addition our work is continuously expanding in other regions through replication partners.

Job Description

The Communications Volunteer will provide day-to-day support to the
partnerships and development team in ensuring the organization’s visibility,
storytelling, and engagement across digital and traditional platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in compiling media contacts and maintaining the media database.
  • Support in drafting press releases, media advisories, and invitations.
  • Help monitor media coverage and prepare simple reports.
  • Collect stories, quotes, and photos from programs and activities.
  • Draft short articles, blog posts, and captions for different platforms.
  • Support editing and formatting of reports, newsletters, and other materials.
  • Schedule posts and support content updates on social media platforms.
  • Monitor engagement and respond to basic online inquiries.
  • Assist in creating simple graphics, flyers, and digital materials.
  • Help draft internal announcements, emails, and meeting notes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism,
  • Marketing, or related field, with 1 year experience in communications or media.
  • Skilled in writing, editing, and content production across digital and print, with
  • practical experience managing social media accounts and analytics. Interest in communications, media, or related fields.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital tools.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • High integrity, honesty, and confidentiality.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
