Job Description

This role is responsible for developing and expanding new and existing distribution channels for General Insurance (GI) business. It involves managing tenders and bids, building business partnerships, supporting strategic business development initiatives, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role also contributes to driving growth through direct client engagement, collaboration with intermediaries, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new distribution channels (M-channels, E-channels, retail outlets, partnerships)
  • Advise on potential products and services based on market opportunities
  • Prepare tenders and bids for new and renewal GI business
  • Maintain and follow up on a tenders/bids pipeline
  • Coordinate response materials and ensure completeness of bid submissions
  • Manage timely production of graphic and visual presentation materials
  • Gather and utilize feedback from unsuccessful tenders to improve future submissions
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and handle related correspondence
  • Ensure timely return or cancellation of expired bid securities
  • Respond promptly to quotation requests
  • Generate new GI business and promote growth
  • Build and maintain relationships with intermediaries, clients, and partners
  • Support execution of GI business development strategy
  • Report daily activities using standard reporting formats
  • Represent the business in development meetings with potential clients
  • Resolve customer service issues related to GI business development
  • Maintain and report on GI business pipeline for new and renewal business
  • Grow the direct book sustainably while managing cost and loss ratio
  • Identify and establish partnerships with distributors and other stakeholders
  • Set up tracking systems for business performance
  • Conduct joint fieldwork with branch and development staff
  • Monitor and address alternative business channel performance issues
  • Prepare bid documents as per tender requirements
  • Source and evaluate relevant tenders and RFQs
  • Coordinate preparation and delivery of proposals within deadlines
  • Manage administrative aspects of RFQ processes
  • Maintain records management system for tender documentation
  • Maintain status reports of proposals and coordinate revisions with Sales Manager
  • Ensure tender deadlines and requirements are met
  • Implement and enforce compliance, AML, KYC, and sanctions policies and processes
  • Escalate compliance breaches or suspicious activity to Risk and Compliance Office
  • Execute account development strategies and achieve sales targets
  • Analyze data using preset tools and formats
  • Resolve customer or supplier queries on complex processes and policies
  • Prepare moderately complex documents and summaries
  • Generate standard business reports
  • Maintain and grow customer relationships through calls or meetings
  • Provide comprehensive financial planning advice for complex cases
  • Deliver routine sales support services
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards
  • Participate in training and personal development activities
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Management (required)
  • Proficiency in accounting, data analysis, reporting, and sales software
  • Strong skills in planning, evaluation, and presentation
  • Effective communication and customer service orientation
  • Ability to make quality decisions and manage complex tasks
  • Strong organizational and process optimization skills
  • Tech-savvy with good understanding of CRM systems
  • Experience in preparing and managing tender documents
  • Ability to conduct financial needs analysis and provide tailored advice
  • Knowledge of compliance, AML, KYC, and sanctions protocols
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong numerical aptitude and data interpretation ability
  • Capability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
