We are seeking a business Analyst to prepare proposals for Business & Institutional Banking (BIB), taking into consideration the Bank’s credit policy, with the result of obtaining quick approval from the Credit Department while managing customer expectations, liaise with Credit Collections/Relationship Managers to obtain the necessary information for annual credit reviews, especially for big-ticket credits, ensure appropriate deal structuring, review, and sign-off work that complies with set standards and credit policy, ensure proper pricing on a revenue/expense basis and full collection of fees and commissions, while growing the revenue line, handle all aspects of credit applications including structuring, documentation, and risk management, analyze customer information and accounts to advise Relationship Managers on additional income opportunities, prepare memos for facility extensions and restructures as required, follow up on facility documentation to ensure approved terms and conditions are properly captured before forwarding documents to the client.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor credit quality of the portfolio for risk recognition and proper risk rating of each relationship, ensuring satisfactory portfolio quality.

  • Support Relationship Managers in onboarding new BIB relationships.

  • Support Relationship Managers in implementing account plans for high-value relationships within the assigned portfolio.

  • Manage assigned BIB customer portfolio (number of relationships and portfolio size to be agreed with the Team Leader).

  • Ensure a high level of satisfaction within the assigned portfolio of BIB customers.

  • Monitor portfolio quality to prevent direct credit losses.

  • Proactively respond to changes in the marketplace.

  • Ensure timely resolution of customer issues requiring account analysis.

  • Ensure all documentation is valid and complete in the assigned portfolio.

  • Be highly responsive to customer needs and ensure client satisfaction in a dynamic environment.

  • Conduct industry studies and financial analyses of segment customers using credit review skills to support productive sales performance.

  • Prepare credit memos, proposals, and board papers as required.

  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities consistent with the role as assigned by management.

  • Performance on the following variables:

  • Support in new-to-bank client acquisition.

  • Contribute towards lending growth within targeted segments.

  • Contribute towards liabilities growth within targeted segments.

  • Achieve non-interest income targets (fees and commissions).

  • Achieve interest income targets on business/institutional-related lending disbursements (yield and margin).

Requirements

  • A good Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Quantitative Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Additional training or professional qualification in Business and Project Appraisal, Risk Management, or Financial Analysis will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial services environment, with at least 2 years in Credit Risk Management.

  • Credit certification is an added advantage.

  • Strong understanding of company financial statements (P&L and Balance Sheet).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Awareness of business issues and current economic/market trends.

  • Proficiency in computer applications (especially spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and Word processing).

  • Results-oriented individual with independent and sound judgment.

  • Strong written, verbal, and communication skills.

  • Self-driven and able to work efficiently under pressure.

  • Results-oriented with independent and sound judgment.

  • Good interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills.

  • Strong organizational skills; goal and task-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities across teams (Relationship Management, Credit Evaluation, Operations, Legal, etc.).

  • Ability to stay informed about market changes, customer requirements, and competitor actions.

  • Ability to identify new business or product opportunities in the market, assess risks, and conduct comprehensive credit analysis.
