Job Description
This position contributes to the calling of Medical Teams International by operating ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images and making summary reports. He or she works closely with patients to explain procedures, ensure comfort, and accurately capture images of various body systems to aid clinical teams in diagnosing patients.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Performing high quality ultrasound imaging and analysis to assist in the diagnosis and management of patients, reporting immediately to the medical referent any problem regarding patient’s health status
- Prepare patients for imaging including explaining procedures and compiling medical history and always upholding patient confidentiality
- Ensure application of hygiene protocols in the maintenance of equipment and X-ray room; performing cleaning of ultrasound devices and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Ensure quality assurance by auditing own practice and ensuring that sonography equipment remains in good condition and makes necessary requisition for repair needs
- Perform regular stock inventory and ensure all materials are stored according to each specific condition; make requisitions for materials
- Ensure biomedical equipment is in good working order by using in accordance with user manual and protocols, perform cleaning and minor maintenance, undertaking regular quality assurance checks; alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning, damage of ultrasound room material and devices
- Ensure that medical practices are conducted with the highest level of integrity and ethics according to professional and MTI Code of Conduct
- Ensure data collected is accurate and submit reports according to schedule
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Diploma in Medical Radiology
- Registration with Allied Health Professionals Council is required
- Valid practising license is required
- 1 years of diagnostic experience using ultrasound is required
- Experience working with international NGOs is an added advantage
- Knowledge of sonography principles and best practices
- Knowledge of hygiene management and IPC protocol
- Skilled in performing ultrasounds and interpreting images
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to professional code of conduct
- Ability to treat all patients and staff with respect, without prejudice
- Ability to provide high quality, ethical, compassionate care that places the needs of the patient first
- Ability to maintain detailed records with high accuracy
- Ability to support MTI Calling and adhere to the MTI Code of Conduct
- Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, medical instruments, materials, computer.
- Frequent communication and exchange of information among colleagues and people of concern which requires the ability to speak, hear, convey and express oneself.

- Occasionally, ascends/descends stairs, steps, or ladder depending on the role.
- Occasionally move about inside an office to access file cabinets, office machinery, meet with colleagues, etc.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move heavy items
- Seldom to occasionally position oneself to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- If in travel status, occasional to frequent traversing over rough or steep terrain in either a motor vehicle or on foot.
