Job Description

We are seeking to recruit Secondary School Teachers (Agriculture) who will be responsible for imparting knowledge and skills to learners.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct classroom instruction in accordance with Watoto education standards and the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Sports.

  • Evaluate teaching and learning by conducting monthly and termly assessments.

  • Monitor subject and class academic performance of learners to ensure academic excellence.

  • Create and maintain a safe, conducive, and interactive learning environment for the learners.

  • Recognise and celebrate outstanding learners in different aspects of school life.

  • Demonstrate good stewardship of resources and property in the school community by ensuring the safe custody and optimum use of equipment assigned.

  • Motivate and engage learners in at least one vocational skill, as well as ensure their active participation in skilling activities is consistent.

  • Monitor and report the performance of learners in vocational skills.

  • Assess and evaluate a real-life project presented by learners.

  • Conduct effective leadership sessions with the learners in small groups.

  • Lead one-on-one mentorship sessions and provide guidance by being present and available in the lives of learners.

  • Conduct real-life projects to provide authentic learning experiences to learners.

  • Requirements

    • The applicant for the role should hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in Education.

    • They must have at least three years of experience in teaching and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

    • A high degree of flexibility and initiative is required, along with a commitment to working within a team environment and the ability to work under minimal supervision.

    • The applicant should also have strong pedagogical skills and be creative and innovative.

    • Finally, knowledge of computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
