Job Description

We are seeking to recruit Secondary School Teachers (Agriculture) who will be responsible for imparting knowledge and skills to learners.

Responsibilities

Conduct classroom instruction in accordance with Watoto education standards and the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Evaluate teaching and learning by conducting monthly and termly assessments.
Monitor subject and class academic performance of learners to ensure academic excellence.
Create and maintain a safe, conducive, and interactive learning environment for the learners.
Recognise and celebrate outstanding learners in different aspects of school life.
Demonstrate good stewardship of resources and property in the school community by ensuring the safe custody and optimum use of equipment assigned.
Motivate and engage learners in at least one vocational skill, as well as ensure their active participation in skilling activities is consistent.
Monitor and report the performance of learners in vocational skills.
Assess and evaluate a real-life project presented by learners.
Conduct effective leadership sessions with the learners in small groups.
Lead one-on-one mentorship sessions and provide guidance by being present and available in the lives of learners.
Conduct real-life projects to provide authentic learning experiences to learners.

Requirements

The applicant for the role should hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
They must have at least three years of experience in teaching and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
A high degree of flexibility and initiative is required, along with a commitment to working within a team environment and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
The applicant should also have strong pedagogical skills and be creative and innovative.
Finally, knowledge of computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
