Job Description
The Manager is responsible for all aspects of the restaurant operations and management, including food, beverage, equipment, financial and facilities. The Manager manages and leads the team members in providing the highest possible level of customer service. The Manager is also responsible for working with the Director to establish financial goals, financial systems and organizational policies to ensure financial stability and achievement of organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team management and development including, skill gap analysis, training and scheduling staff.
- Develop staff skills through training, coaching and leadership to ensure individual strengths are maximized to benefit the organization and ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
- Manage Human Resource processes and ensure organizational compliance with applicable occupational, health and safety regulations and laws.
- Ensure all alcoholic beverage services are in strict compliance with all legal requirements and all servers and staff are properly trained.
- Promote positive employee relations by effectively delegating duties, fostering high staff morale by creating a positive and supportive work environment, and encouraging and modeling effective collaboration.
- Manage loss prevention and risk management for the organization.
- Review sales reports with the Director and develop and implement plans to increase revenue and control expenses to meet organizational financial goals.
- Work with the Director to develop and implement plans to increase revenue and control expenses to meet organizational financial goals. Develop, implement and continuously monitor customer service policies and practices to ensure the organization is meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
- Develop and manage vendor relationships and ensure vendors deliver the quality of services and products that ensure the organizations’ high-quality standards are maintained.
- Develop and manage effective public relations, marketing and advertising programs to effectively promote the organization and increase revenues by increasing sales.
- Ensure the facility is properly maintained and improved in a cost-effective manner to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for staff and customers.
- Manage all service aspects of the restaurant operations. Responsible for management of staff to ensure the highest possible level of customer service, operational efficiency and profitability.
- Manage all aspects of the restaurant marketing and promotions to increase community awareness and revenue generation.
- Ensure proper operation the POS system, suggesting changes where applicable and system is maintained.
Requirements
- Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Have at least a minimum of 4 years of experience in a challenging recreational, entertainment, retail, hospitality or food services organization.
- Knowledge, skills and competences
- Be able to demonstrate customer service and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of customers, vendors and employees. Have great leadership and management skills to facilitate development of an effective and productive team.
- Must have fundamental business management experience which includes industry knowledge, financial management and organizational development practices.
- Must have facilities management experience to include food services, entertainment, recreational, retail, plant and equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheet creation and the use of online applications / website browsers.
- Must possess knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements sufficient to ensure the organization maintains full compliance.
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of customers and staff.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (in excess of 8 hours).
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and occasionally lift up to 5 kilograms.
- Fluency in English language.
