Engineer - Biling

MTN is seeking to recruit a Billing Engineer to ensure continuous operation and maintenance of IT Enterprise Applications to provide uninterrupted, high-quality service.  Support Roaming and Interconnect Operations and Corporate/postpaid-related Operations.

Reports to: Manager – IT Enterprise Applications

• Ensuring continuous operation and maintenance of IT Enterprise Applications to provide uninterrupted, high-quality service.

• Roaming and Interconnect Operations                                                                                                         

• Corporate/postpaid-related Operations.                                                                                                                        

• To attend to incidents, work orders, problem tickets, changes etc. pertaining the relevant applications/systems assigned                                                                                                                                   

• Ensure optimization of the assigned IT applications to meet company KPI-s and customer expectations

• Development of technical documents including Standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides   

• Derivation of trends in performance from statistics as well as from customer complaints to provide long term solutions to problems identified.                                                                                                            

• Serve MTN UG’s customers and provide solutions to customer problems to improve the customer experience

• Matrix management across Information                                                

• Working with multiple vendors and business units                                                                                                     

• Execute any assignments that may be assigned from time to time at management’s discretion               

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field

• 2 years’ experience in a busy IT environment                                                                                                               

• 2 years’ experience specific to software development and maintenance of applications                             

• 2 years’ experience specific to UNIX shell scripting, Database programming                                                                                                                                                

• Database Management Skills – Oracle, SQL server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Hadoop                                      

• Shell scripting/Programming                                                                                                                                             

• Unix/ Linux System administration
