Job Description
Palm Corps is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of an Education Project Coordinator
Reports To: Education Project Coordinator
Duty Station: Imvepi & Bidibidi Refugee Settlements
Responsibilities
- Engage refugee and host community leaders, PTAs, SMCs, and youth structures to strengthen community participation and accountability in education service delivery.
- Facilitate community dialogues and sensitization sessions on education access, retention, child protection, gender equality, and prevention of harmful practices.
- Conduct routine education monitoring, assessments, and data collection in line with UNHCR and MoES standards to support planning and reporting.
- Support and participate in joint education sector monitoring with UNHCR, DEOs, DISs, and partner organizations.
- Compile and submit timely activity reports and education data to the Project Coordinator for consolidation and onward submission to UNHCR, OPM, DLG, and partners.
- Plan logistical needs and communicate vehicle, equipment, and repair requirements to the Project Coordinator.
- Represent PALM Corps in settlement-level coordination meetings, school forums, and sector working groups.
- Support the Accountant and Personnel Officer in monitoring teacher attendance, payroll management, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Advocate for the right to education for refugee and host community children, identify barriers to access, and liaise with relevant authorities to address them.
- Collaborate with NGOs, UN agencies, government departments, and education institutions to enhance service delivery and resource mobilization.
- Ensure integration of child safeguarding, PSEA, AGD, and AAP principles in all field-level activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education(core) from a recognized university.
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in education project implementation or classroom teaching.
- Experience in formal and non-formal education programming in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Strong skills in community mobilization, data collection, and report writing.
- Basic understanding of humanitarian principles and INEE standards.
- Willingness to reside in Yumbe and Terego districts and ability to ride a motorcycle.
