Job Description

As the Commercial Manager in Uganda, you will define and execute the country's commercial strategy by leading both new restaurant acquisitions and strategic account management. Your mission is to scale Glovo’s local presence and operational excellence, positioning Uganda as a top-performing market through high-level KPIs and refined team processes. We are seeking a senior leader who blends creative strategy with sharp negotiation skills to foster partner growth and inspire a high-performing commercial team.

Responsibilities

  • Devise the long-term commercial strategy for Uganda
  • Oversee directly multiple areas of responsibility: sales, partnerships, monetization, etc.
  • Analyze business / financial data to take key commercial decisions in the country
  • Lead a team of 9 individuals and lead your direct and indirect team to greatness - hire top talents, help them perform, grow and develop as professionals
  • Guide the local commercial teams in order to achieve sales and account management targets and maintain good relationships with our partners
  • Work with a cross-functional team (marketing, operations, finance) to achieve quick & quality execution
  • Get into details, deep-dive and problem solve. You will make things happen together with your team
  • Lead project implementation and translate it into actionable tasks to ensure continuous improvement
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in top restaurants
  • Give visibility to main stakeholders of status and follow up on next steps

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading high-performing commercial teams, ideally across multiple countries and markets.
  • Proven ability to negotiate large-scale contracts and build long-term relationships with C-level executives.
  • Deep business acumen with a track record of empathizing with partner models to deliver value-driven strategies.
  • Expert-level stakeholder management skills for collaborating effectively with both internal peers and external partners.
  • Strong data-driven and analytical mindset used to solve complex commercial problems.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a highly organized and detail-oriented approach to execution.
  • Innovative and creative thinker capable of developing "outside the box" solutions to drive market growth.
