Job Description

The Bancassurance Officer will be responsible for assisting in managing SWICO bancassurance sales, processes, and providing customer service and after-sales service.

 

Department: Marketing, Research and Development

Reports To: Manager Marketing and Distribution

Directly Supervises: None

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales in line with the bancassurance targets.

  • Drive profitability of bancassurance sales from new and existing clients.

  • Attend to bancassurance customer needs and policy renewals in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that insurance reconciliations are done on a monthly basis and submitted to the Finance team.

  • Ensure that Bancassurance branding materials are adequate and appropriately displayed.

  • Work with marketing to drive programs and events to extend the relationships to new prospects.

  • Ensure all regulatory requirements on bancassurance are met (e.g., renewals, compliance with the Insurance Act).

  • Ensure that all security held by the Bank on lending facilities is adequately insured.

  • Work with other departments to ensure staff dealing with bancassurance are adequately trained.

  • Provide training support to ensure full understanding of the bancassurance process and procedures.

  • Provide general support to the sales and marketing team as and when required.

  • Be the first point of contact with all third parties relating to bancassurance.

  • Work with Branch officers to ensure that branch staff manage customer queries and complaints on bancassurance in a timely manner.

  • Provide support to outlets and other functions on bancassurance issues.

  • Interact regularly with internal service providers (staff) to ensure fast and efficient service to customers with respect to bancassurance.

  • Manage all aspects of bancassurance policy claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Insurance, or a Business-related field.

  • Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in banking, insurance, or risk management from a reputable organization.

  • Exposure to governance, control, and risk management.

  • Knowledge of insurance business (claims management & underwriting), products, and processes.

  • Good understanding of insurance processes.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Good negotiation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • High level of integrity.

  • Self-driven.

  • Results Oriented.

  • Creative and innovative.
