Job Description
The Microbiologist is responsible for conducting microbiological analysis and monitoring to ensure the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of milk and dairy products throughout the production process. The role supports quality assurance systems through testing of raw milk, in-process samples, finished products, water, and environmental swabs in line with HACCP, ISO 22000, UNBS, and internal food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and shut down UHT milk processing equipment in accordance with approved SOPs.
- Execute daily production schedules while monitoring critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, and processing time.
- Conduct routine in-process quality checks and promptly report deviations.
- Maintain high hygiene standards and comply with CIP, GMP, HACCP, ISO, and food safety requirements.
- Complete accurate production records, logs, and reports for traceability and reconciliation.
Requirements
- Certificate or Diploma in Dairy Science, Food Processing Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience operating UHT or similar dairy processing equipment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and dairy production workflows.
